FAFSA AND SELECTIVE SERVICE REQUIREMENTS
FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid):
Financial need is not a factor in determining an A+ student's eligibility for A+ benefits. However, an A+ student is required to complete a FAFSA to determine eligibility for non-payback financial aid (i.e., Pell Grant, Missouri State Grant, Supplementary Education Opportunity Grant).
This must be completed at least two weeks prior to the senior's last day of school. (It is wise to complete this as early as possible after January 1 of the senior year but certainly by April 1, which is the state deadline for the FAFSA.)
The FAFSA can be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. It is a free process; income tax information is needed to complete the process. A+ Students must provide the A+ Coordinator with proof of completion (a copy of the confirmation page).
Selective Services (for males only):
According to the law, all males age 18 or older must register with the Selective Services. This is a quick process that can be done online at www.sss.gov.
