Osage County R-II Schools

Today's Womens Basketball matchup against the Steelville Cardinals has been postponed due to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions. We are working with the Steelville Athletic Department to find an alternative date for rescheduling. More information will be released when available.

Linn R-II will be released at 11:30 am, 1/12 due to inclement weather and potentially hazardous driving conditions; students will have an opportunity to eat lunch prior to leaving. Stay safe, warm, and GO WILDCATS!

Due to weather conditions and anticipated early release; pre-K classes for Linn R2 will be canceled for today, Friday, 1/12.

Good afternoon, Thank you so much for your patience as we try our very best to respond to Missouri's ever-changing weather! Of course, we will have another round overnight with rain/snow and plummeting temperatures right in the middle of our day..... I am working with our transportation provider (Joe Nuener- Rudroff) and other area superintendent to evaluate driving conditions; unfortunately, I am not the only one with a broken crystal ball :( (If someone is interested in a business venture, crystal ball repair might be an untapped market in our area:)). As usual, I will be checking in on the forecast and the group around 8 pm; I will let you know then if I feel confident. Most likely, I will need to reevaluate in the morning; we typically begin conversations at 4 am and try our best to make a decision by 5 am. Please be prepared for all possibilities: full snow day or an early dismissal. I hope the information helps you plan. If you are driving, please exercise caution, give yourself additional time, and be aware of other drivers. Good evening Wildcat Families, My crystal ball is on the fritz, but a multitude of factors lead me to call a Snow Day for tomorrow January 9th! The morning forecast does look fair, but the afternoon forecast does not; considering the number of young/new drivers we have, the distances our staff drives, and the uncertainty of the afternoon forecast (it changes by the minute at times), I believe that our students' and staff's safety is best served by erring on the side of caution. As promised, when I feel strongly that a decision can be made earlier, I am glad to do so for the sake of our family's planning. I will either be the smartest guy for calling tonight or the dumbest.....we will all see tomorrow. Thank you for your patience; stay warm, stay safe, and go Wildcats! -Bob

This is just a reminder that Osage County R2 will be in session tomorrow, Monday, October 23rd. Thursday, October 26th, school will dismiss at 12:45 for parent teacher conferences. No school on Friday, October 27th.
